Non Electronic Custom External Barcodes

To enable the use of external barcodes on Non Electronic Content Types in RecordPoint

RecordPoint provides a system generated barcode for each non electronic record created or imported. To override this value with an externally provided barcode, this field must first be enabled and added to the content type.

Pre-requisites

An existing Non Electronic content type must be available. See the article Non Electronic – Content types for more information on creating and adding custom content types.

Create a custom column for Barcodes

  1. In RecordPoint under the Management menu, select Settings
  2. Select Non Electronic Content Types
  3. Select the RecordPoint Physical type list containing the content type to modify
  4. Select the content type required
  5. Then from the List ribbon select List Settings
  6. Under the Columns section, select Create Column (or select Add from existing site columns if a barcode column already exists)
  7. Provide a Column name and select Single line of text
  8. Click Ok to save
