Location Inheritance
RecordPoint now supports the inheritance of a containers location down to its record/file/file part.
Adding a Record to a File
When a Record gets added to a File, then the Record inherits the Home and Owner location of File.
Adding a File to a Box
When a File gets added to a Box, then the File, File Parts and Records inherits the Home and Owner location of Box.
Adding a File Part to a File
When a File Part gets added to a File, then the File Part and Records inherits the Home and Owner location of File.
When a Parent is updated
When a Parent is updated then the children items inherits the Home and Owner location of the Parent.
How the items will be updated
The daily task timer job will process the inheritance. By default the daily task timer job is scheduled to run daily in off peak times.
Enabling/Disabling this feature
By default this feature is enabled.
- Go to Central Administration
- Select Application Management
- Select RecordPoint Deployment and Configuration
- Select Configuration
- Select the RecordPoint Web Application and Site Collection
- Click Show Administrative components
- Select 'RecordPoint Location Synchronisation'
