This function synchronises all users or groups added in RecordPoint to the relevant RecordPoint groups in the RecordPoint storage sites.
Adding Active Directory (AD) and Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS) user groups to RecordPoint
When adding either AD or ADFS groups to the following groups, the sychronise only needs to be performed once. When users are then added to these AD or ADFS groups the sychonisation will happen automatically.
Adding SharePoint users to RecordPoint groups
When adding either SharePoint user to the following groups, the sychronise will need to performed every time a user or group is added or updated. This approach is not recommended.
Synchronising SharePoint groups/users, AD and ADFS groups to RecordPoint Storage Sites
When adding the above groups or users to the following groups they are synchronised to the following RecordPoint storage layer groups:
- Site Collections Administrators group are synchronised to the Site Collection Administrators of all the storage sites
- Record Coordinator (if not Full Access), Record Manager (if not full access), Record Visitor (if not full access), Record Administrator (if not full access) are synchronised to the Record Visitor group in all storage sites.
- Record Coordinator (if Full Access) Record Manager (if full access) Record Visitor (if full access) Record Administrator (if full access) are synchronised to the Record Administrator group in all storage sites.
- Records Administrator group in the RecordPoint portal site are synchronised to the Record Administrator group in all storage sites.
