What are rule priorities and what are they used for?

The rule priority only applies when an item is submitted to RecordPoint that satisfies more than one rule.

In this case the rule with the highest priority will be used to classify the record. The priorities by default are calculated by RecordPoint, however you can manually update the priority so that you can determine which rule ’wins’. To do this check the box 'Check to override the RecordPoint Priority' and update the field.

The default priority for patterns is:

  • metadata

  • content type,

  • list name, and

  • site name.
